Do: Take Care of Your Body Health
Hair is a body tissue that is equally affected by our dietary habits and physical well-being. Diet rich in dietary fibers, protein, vitamins, and minerals is vital for optimal hair growth and regeneration. Hormonal imbalance, lack of exercise, poor diet and hygiene, stress and a medical condition like a thyroid problem can cause various hair problems. Do: Shun the Sun
And you thought that the UV radiations are harmful to your skin only? Apparently, they won’t turn your hair red or begin to peel; however, these damaging rays are just as dangerous to the hair as skin. Repeated sun exposure will not only fade your hair color but also leave your hair rough, dry and damaged. While preparing for the outdoor, always try to cover your hair with a scarf or a wide-brimmed hat. Do: Check the Ingredient List
Before going to purchase hair care products such as shampoo and conditioner, always keep an eye on their ingredient list. Do not choose a product that includes more than two detergents such as ammonium lauryl sulfate, sodium lauryl sulfate or lauryl ether sulfate. Do Not Over Wash
Unless your hair are extra oily or stuffed with grim or diet, dabbing them with shampoo every other day will cause damage. Harsh chemical agents in the shampoos can strip off the healthy oil (sebum) from your hair; leaving them dry and damaged. Just like over washing clothes fades their color, if you regularly wash your hair, it will become too rough and dry. Also, use lukewarm water to wash your hair and avoid washing it with cold or hot water.
Do Not Sleep With Wet Hair
Going to bed with damp hair is a big no-no. The way you care your hair at night is essential as you have little control over your sleeping habits and don’t know for sure how you move at night. Alternatively, you can use a silk pillow as it will be less harsh on your hair. Brushing your hair before bedtime to detangled it or eliminate any buildup is also an excellent step. A braid style is a good way to keep hair out of the way, and it is also straightforward to deconstruct it in the morning.
Do not swim unprotected
In summer, swimming in the sea or a swimming pool is surely something you are thinking to do; however, you also want your hair to remain voluminous and healthy. To prevent your hair from chlorine or salt damage, it is advisable to have swimming for no more than 2 hours.
