Questions About Cold Laser Hair Restoration & Growth

What causes hair loss in men and women?

Both men and women can experience the same types of hair loss, and to the same extent, but different things tend to trigger hair loss in each instance. Men are certainly more susceptible to age-related hair loss and pattern baldness, which is genetic and cannot be avoided. Woman can also experience natural hair loss or thinning, sometimes due to genetic hormone imbalances or stress brought about by pregnancy.

For both men and women, stress is a factor, as are underlying conditions such as alopecia. The good news is that no matter what the root cause of your hair loss is, Haair will find a solution to help you treat and overcome it.

Is your clinic private & confidential?

We know that dealing with hair loss is a sensitive subject for both men and women. That’s why all of our treatment is carried out in the strictest confidence, and all of our consultants are very careful when discussing and planning your treatment.

How do I know if it’s going to work?

Our staff are highly skilled and trained to offer you the best possible treatment for your condition. That’s why we take the time to explain every procedure in great detail, answering any questions you might have. It’s also why we focus attention on giving you a diagnosis for your hair and scalp problems, so you can better understand your symptoms and why you may be experiencing them.

You’re welcome to spend time at the clinic observing how we work, asking questions about the kinds of technology we employThat way you can draw your own conclusions and hopefully feel more confident in the kinds of treatment we offer. What is DHT?

Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a derivative of the male hormone testosterone, is the enemy of hair follicles on your head. Under certain conditions DHT destroys hair  follicles and is at the root of many kinds of hair loss.

Since hormones operate in the healthiest manner when they are in a delicate balance, the androgens, as male hormones are called, do not need to be raised to trigger a problem. Their counterpart female hormones, when lowered, give an edge to these androgens, such as DHT. Such an imbalance can cause problems, including hair loss.

Does laser hair treatment actually work?

The results from laser hair therapy can vary from person to person. However overall 99% of people find laser therapy stops excessive hair loss and shedding and 8 in 10 people experience hair re-growth.

The treatment works by stimulating the follicles beneath the scalp, allowing increased blood flow and more nutrients to reach the area, stimulating hair thickening and re-growth.  We’ll monitor your treatment closely over a period of weeks to determine the effect laser treatment is having.

Does laser hair treatment have any side effects?

No, and that’s one of the best parts about low level laser hair treatment. There are, of course, instances where we wouldn’t advise laser therapy, such as if there are suspicious lesions on the skin or carcinoma.

Rest assured all of our staff are fully trained in the use of laser therapy, and won’t advise it if there’s any risknegative side effects could occur. We do not recommend the treatment to pregnant women, as the effects of infrared treatment on unborn babies are not yet fully known.

We work with the innovative range of natural products from Kapyderm. The product range is only available to purchase through qualified dermotrichologists including Haair and is not available to purchase online. This is to ensure customers are given a full diagnosis and advice on the most appropriate options rather than self diagnosing an inappropriate or ineffective one, wasting money and time. Kapyderm products are supported by the International Association of Trichologists and used by a large client base in Europe.
